Dr. Adi Shefer
President
A leader in the field of polymers, nanotechnology, and controlled delivery systems, Dr. Adi Shefer has gained over 20 years of experience in the commercialization of delivery systems. She has managed multidisciplinary groups of scientists, engineers, and marketing professionals to successfully bring products to the market. Prior to Salvona, Dr. Adi Shefer was involved with global product development at the corporate level of International Flavors and Fragrances, Inc.
Dr. Adi Shefer has patented over 80 controlled release technologies and published more than 40 papers in the related fields. Dr. Adi Shefer holds a Ph.D. degree with excellence in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Physics from Ben-Gurion University, Israel. She has successfully completed her post graduate experience at MIT and Harvard University in the field of Polymer Science and Electrical Engineering, developing cutting edge polymeric systems for medical applications. Adi is responsible for technology development and patents.
Dr. Sam Shefer
Executive Vice President
Dr. Sam Shefer earned a Ph.D. in Bio-Chemical and Chemical Engineering and has developed and commercialized various controlled release technologies. In 1998, Dr. Sam Shefer co-founded Salvona Technologies, Inc. Prior to his work at Salvona, Sam worked for biomedical and consumer care companies, most recently with IFF, where he spent 6 years in consumer care product development.
Dr. Sam Shefer established a career at MIT and was involved in developing advanced drug delivery systems, bioreactors, and artificial organs. He has issued more than 80 patents and authored over 50 scientific papers on controlled release delivery systems. Dr. Sam Shefer has 25 years of experience in developing and commercializing technology based products. Sam is in charge of business development and operations for Salvona.
Steven Sewald
CFO
Mr. Sewald received a B.S. degree, majoring in accounting from Brooklyn College in 1981.
Mr. Sewald has worked in his profession of public accounting with various New York City Certified Public Accounting firms since 1981. In 1991, Mr. Sewald founded his own CPA firm of which he is a senior partner. Mr. Sewald is the chief financial officer for Salvona and has been the CFO and CPA of Salvona since its establishment in 1998.
Jeff Gohar
Sales and Marketing
Jeffrey Gohar has over eight years of experience in sales/marketing work for the consumer care and wellness industries. Before relocating to New Jersey to become Salvona’s New Business/Product Manager, Jeff was customer care manager for 24 Hour Fitness Corporation, based in San Francisco. He has also done consulting for a media/advertising company that places national, regional, and local ad buys into magazines for agencies and corporate accounts.
With two bachelors degrees, one in business/marketing and another in computer arts, Jeff’s skills have helped bring new products, technology and product awareness to both existing and new clients at Salvona. Jeff is in charge of global sales and marketing.
Joan McCormack
Sales and Support Administration
Joan has a B.Sc in Chemistry and 25 years of experience in analytical instrumentation in addition to 8 years of experience in the lab providing sales support. She was the training coordinator, a trainer, and Quality Control Manager for ICP at Instruments SA and later on moved to the Laboratory Apparatus division and became the Sales & Marketing Manager for 4 years before taking over the Production and R&D for this division for another 8 years. Joan handles Sales accounts and customer service for Salvona.
Bryan Grossman
Production Manager
Bryan has over 6 years of experience in commercial manufacturing processes with Salvona. He earned a degree in Biology from Rutgers University, with a Henry Rutgers Scholar award. Prior to his work at Salvona, Bryan worked for a major contract manufacturer of microspheres. Bryan is the production manager who is in charge of the team responsible for the development, production processes, and scale up.
Scott Jones
Supply Chain Manager
Scott has over 18 years of industrial experience with production systems, most recently with the L’Oreal production plant. Scott earned a B.Sc. in Electrical technology and has earned NASA Solder certification, Mill Standard 2000, and Surface Mount Technology certifications. In this capacity Scott is in charge of the supply chain for materials and equipment used for production.
Robert Jolicoeur
Shipping and Storage Manager
With over 18 years of experience in production platforms with chemical companies such as IFF, Robert currently manages shipping and receiving, storage management, and production for Salvona.
Gil Shefer
Business Development and Website Maintenance
Karin Zehavi
Biochemist, develops protocols for clinical testing, and manages the clinical testing for Salvona
