Dr. Adi Shefer, President and CTO
Adi is the President of Salvona holding company and its chief technical officer. She directly manages and oversees the technical and intellectual properties of Salvona companies.
Adi Shefer gained extensive experience from over 7 years in the development and commercialization of delivery systems with International Flavors and Fragrances, Inc. She has managed multidisciplinary groups of scientists, engineers, and marketing professionals to successfully bring products to market. Adi is also experienced with global product development at the corporate level.
Dr. A. Shefer has patented over 90 controlled release technologies and published more than 40 papers in the related fields. Dr. A. Shefer holds a BSc in chemistry from Tel Aviv University as well as MSc and Ph.D. degrees with excellence in chemical engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel. She successfully completed her postgraduate work at MIT and Harvard University in the polymer science and electrical engineering field developing cutting edge polymeric systems for medical applications.
Dr. Sam Shefer, CEO
Sam earned a BSc in biological sciences, MSc in biochemistry, and Ph.D. in chemical engineering and bio-chemical engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel. Following his degree acquisition, Sam established a career at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he developed advanced drug delivery systems, medical implantable bioreactors, and designs of implantable artificial organs in collaboration with industrial scientists and engineers.
Sam has issued more than 90 patents and authored over 50 scientific papers on controlled release delivery systems, and has delivered multiple presentations on technology-based products at trade shows and scientific conferences.
Sam gained over 20 years of experience in commercial product development in the fields of consumer care products, and pharmaceutical and medical devices. He cofounded Salvona and managed its growth from inception.
Shai Shefer, CFO, IT Manager
Shai graduated with degrees in Business Management and Finance from the University of Indiana. He gained 3 years of experience with a major company as a financial and IT expert in the Midwest area. He has been an entrepreneur in the area of internet and software design for 2 years. Shai joined Salvona in 2006, and was named CFO in 2011.
Joan McCormack, Chief Administration Scientist
Joan manages the administrative scientific affairs for Salvona companies, including legal affairs such as confidentiality agreements, business agreements, FDA regulations, and safety and technical issues associated with sales of products.
Joan has 25 years experience in chemical research and analytical instrumentation environments with major companies. For 8 years, Joan was managing a laboratory sales support department. Joan was the training coordinator, a trainer herself, and quality control manager for ICP at Instruments SA and later moved on to the laboratory apparatus division where she became the sales & marketing manager for 4 years before taking over the production and R&D division for another 8 years.
Joan earned a BSc. in chemistry and successfully underwent multiple training courses in technology and personal management.
Jeff Gohar, Sales and Business Development Manager
Jeff manages Salvona's sales. Prior to Salvona, Jeff gained experience in sales and marketing for the consumer care and wellness industries.
Jeff earned two bachelor’s degrees, in business/marketing and computer arts. Jeff has been with Salvona since 2003 and has expanded domestic and international sales.
Bryan Grossman, Technology Manager
Bryan manages new product development, and serves as a liaison with customers searching for custom product development.
He holds over 10 years experience with Salvona's products, and previous commercial experience with manufacturing processes of pharmaceutical and consumer care products.
Bryan holds a degree in Biology from Rutgers University, with a Henry Rutgers scholar award. Bryan joined Salvona in 2004 as a production manager, gained experience with technical sales and marketing, and now has combined these skills in technology and custom product development.
Fuad Juma, QA/QC Laboratory Manager
As the QA/QC Laboratory Manager, Fuad certifies ingredients and production batches and manages technical support.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology and Chemistry from Kean University. Fuad has over seven years of analytical laboratory management with a major pharmaceutical company overseeing cGMP procedures. His previous experience allows him to manage analytical, in-vitro, and skin testing using modern methods. Fuad joined Salvona in 2010 and leads the product development department.
Laura Fine, Financial Manager
Laura manages purchasing, billing, and overall accounting for Salvona. In addition, she oversees human resource administration.
Laura holds 35 years of experience in accounting, office administration and human resource management working for a major retail store operation and international pharmaceutical contract packager.
Laura holds certification in accounting and human resource management from both Mercer County and Burlington County Colleges.
Randy Murillo, Product Development Engineer
Randy manages new process development and engineering.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from NJIT. Randy has been with Salvona for over 3 years, starting as a student and recently becoming the leading engineer for product development.
Aneh Chumbow, Senior Chemist
Aneh is a Senior Formulation Chemist in charge of technology development and skin studies.
Aneh received a BS Degree from Henderson State University in Arkansas. She has over 3 years of commercial experience with Church and Dwight. Aneh is developing new products and conducting in-vitro and skin studies to qualify products.
Scott Decker, Marketing Manager
Scott is responsible for creating exposure for Salvona and generating new business.
Scott earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA. He gained 4 years of experience in promotion and public affairs prior to joining Salvona.
Richard Satterthwaite, Supply Chain Manager
Rich is in charge of managing materials from the supply receiving side to product shipping to domestic and international customers.
Rich joined Salvona over 2 years ago with 20 years of experience in supply management in commercial environments such as Johnson and Johnson. Rich manages and monitors sensitive ingredients to meet storage conditions followed by FDA guidelines.
Rich earned an Associate’s degree in chemistry.
