Natural Antiseptics are safe for your skin and the environment. HydroSal® technology provides long-lasting protection from microbes, using alcohol-free, natural plant extracts with proven antiseptic and antifungal properties without causing lasting damage to your skin or the planet.
Some natural antiseptics include witch hazel, thyme, calendula, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, lavender and grapefruit seed extract. The botanical extracts have natural antiseptic properties and can be used to treat or stave off infected blemishes, pimples and acne. Possessing natural antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti-fungal actions, such extracts, are effective for many skin conditions.
However, natural extracts should be used with care because they can irritate the skin and are only effective when used in an optimal concentration.
HydroSal® NAS incorporates a complex of plant extracts at an optimized level into a single delivery system. HydroSal® uses gentle plant products with a dosing technology for the skin and other surfaces. The technology works well as an antiseptic treatment. It also encourages tissue and skin healing and doesn’t cause the skin to break down.
HydroSal® is composed of a core with a shell coating. The system’s core provides a reservoir for the natural antiseptic ingredients. The ingredients diffuse slowly from the core through the shell. HydroSal® NAS is diluted and suspended in water for a spray, gel or other form of finished product. When the product is applied to a surface, the solvent evaporates and the technology will create a disinfected area.
Extended Efficacy on Surfaces
The Efficiency of HydroSal® NAS was determined in a high-traffic public restroom, comparing HydroSal® NAS and NAS Free, each put on a floor tile. After 48 hours of normal use, the areas were swabbed). After swabbing, the NAS Free and HydroSal NAS areas were wiped for 10 seconds with a paper towel dampened with water, then swabbed again after 5 minutes.
The results are presented in this photo. Areas treated with HydroSal NAS showed a reduced number of bacteria compared to the control. Wetting the surface further reduced the number of bacteria. We relate the reduction of the bacteria to the ability of the HydroSal® to release more of the NAS ingredients when the surface is exposed to water.

Improves Retention on Skin
The retention of HydroSal® NAS on skin was determined with volunteers using a lotion containing HydroSal NAS. The product was applied to the arms of volunteers and remained for a period of 6 hours. The skin was extracted with alcohol to determine the level of HydroSal NAS that remained on the skin.

Efficacy of the NAS Blend
