Introduction

HydroSal® Sebum Control is a technology designed to reduce sebum production and impart a matte finish to the skin by continuously absorbing excess oils. This solutions helps regulate sebum production and provides immediate and long-lasting oil absorption.

How the Technology Helps You

HydroSal® Sebum Control is a sub-micron delivery system ranging from 0.1-0.3 microns in diameter . The technology consists of a porous core infused with zinc PCA. The oil-absorbing polymers work immediately to remove excess sebum via a super-absorption mechanism. The zinc ions modulate the secretion of sebum via enzymatic reaction. This technology works fast and provides matte sking appearance for longer periods of time.

Time Release Technology

Time release effect is based on physical absorption combined with biological modulation of sebum control. The zinc contained in the spheres can get deeper, slowly accessing the sebaceous glands and prolonging the benefits of the product.

Dose Response Data

A dose response study was conducted to measure the most effective loading of the technology in a lotion required to achieve a sufficient amount of oil reduction present on the skin. The test is based on a scale from 0-5; where 5 represents undesirably shiny skin, and 0 represents mattefying and clean-looking skin. The best results were achieved when HydroSalTM Sebum Control was used at 3-5%.

When HydroSal® Sebum Control is loaded at 1.5%, the technology implements a 40% decrease in sebum. With 5% HydroSal® Sebum Control, there was approximately 90% reduction.
