Introduction

MultiSal® is a microsphere technology . Within the microspheres are 3 different sub-micron spheres to facilitate enhanced delivery of the functional ingredients to the sensory nerve endings in the epidermal layer. Each of the three cooling agents in MS SC has a different lag time and performance time. The kinetic release of the three ingredients are optimized and synchronized to result in a longlasting and enhanced refreshing experience.

Unique Features

  1. Perception of Freshness - Dermacosmetic delivers freshness without physically dropping the temperature of the skin.
  2. Unique Sensory Experience for skin, hair, scalp, and lip care.
  3. Odorless for enjoyable experience.

Cooling agents provide users with a refreshing and soothing sensation that, in addition to making users feel renewed, also serves as an indicator
that the product is working.

Extended Time Release

Skin diagram illustrating the mechanism in which MS SC stimulates the different sensory nerve endings (inset) in a non-competitive manner to yield a long-lasting cooling sensation.

Refreshing Intensity on the Skin

The refreshing intensity of MS SC loaded at 10% in a lotion was compared to that of free menthyl lactate loaded at 10% in a lotion. The lotions were applied to skin and evaluated for cooling intensity scale of 0 to 5, with 5 being the highest cooling intensity (Figure 4).

The refreshing intensity on the skin treated with MS SC was rated significantly higher and lasted longer than the control sample, which lost virtually all its intensity after 15 minutes. MS SC continued to yield a refreshing sensation after 30 minutes.
